Formerly known as Spiral Hill, Doug Sahm Hill is located in Butler Metro Park and serves as recognition for Doug’s “great talents in the music industry”. This 35-foot (11 meter) hill is the highest point in the park with a panoramic, 360 view of the city skyline.

On April 10, 2008, Austin City Council made a historic decision to honor the musical legacy of Doug Sahm by renaming the iconic Spiral Hill in Butler Metro Park to "Doug Sahm Hill." This change symbolizes Austin's deep appreciation for the late musician and his impact on the music scene and serves as a lasting tribute to his memory.
