INDIGENOUS CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Walk through Heartland's natural spaces, learning about the wild plants and trees traditionally used by Indigenous peoples. Following the walk, visit the Medical Tree Arboretum, then choose to participate in either a traditional sweetgrass harvesting ceremony, followed by a sweetgrass braiding workshop. Or, after the walk, sample a selection of medicinal teas. A family-friendly version of our classic medicine walk using child friendly language with hands on activities for ages 5-12 is also available. Selections for sweetgrass braiding or medicinal teas, along with adult or family-friendly versions are available in the booking form.
