What you’ll do

There is no better way to experience Vancouver than to walk through the streets and immerse yourself in the city’s culture. Allow one of our friendly local expert guides to lead you on a lovely walk through the False Creek area. The Vancouver False Creek Walking Tour is guaranteed to be the highlight of your time in Vancouver.

To begin your tour, your guide will greet you with a smile in front of the Dr. James Till and Ernest McCulloch Statue in front of Science World. The sculpture celebrates Dr. James Till and Ernest McCulloch, the Canadian pioneers of stem cell science who launched research into the subject in the 1960s. The display pairs perfectly with the science centre, which is a geodesic dome containing interactive science displays and films intended to be educational and fun for children ranging from toddlers to young teens. It is definitely a must visit location if you have children!

From there, your guide will lead you toward the Olympic Village. The village was built in 2010 for the Winter Olympic Games to house athletes and Olympic officials, and has now become residential housing. The structure is considered one of the greenest communities in the world, using innovative energy efficiency and sustainability systems like solar heating and green roofs. The development aligns with the City's goals, addressing environmental, economic, and social issues.

Continuing along the Olympic village walk, you will pass some incredible sights, such as Habitat Island, Vancouver Labyrinth, Grassy Knoll, and Stamps Landing. From there, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing ferry ride to Granville Island. Once there, your guide will lead you around the island, passing by the multitude of restaurants, stores, gallaries, theatres, and parks that the island is known and loved for. You will finish your stroll around the island at the famous Public Market, which is home to more than 50 independent food purveyors, and contributes to the Island’s appeal as a renowned culinary destination.

There is no better way to end a fun filled tour than with dessert! While you are at the market, you will receive a mouthwatering handmade donut from the famous Lee’s Donuts that will be sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Afterward, you will have the chance to explore the island on your own, allowing you to spend more time at the businesses and venues that peak your interest the most.

When you are satisfied with your solo exploration of the island, your tour will come to a close. You will then have the option to either allow your guide to lead you back to your starting point, accompanying you on the ferry ride back, or if you’d prefer to spend more time on the island, you are free to stay and wander as long as you’d like!
